6 months old!

My sweet little baby girl is six months old! WOW. I can't believe it. I just love her so very much. God has truly blessed Matt and I to be Callie's parents. She is more and more fun everyday now. She definitely has a little personality all her own now! Well here are Callie's six month stats. She weighed in at 17lbs and 3 oz (75th percentile), her length was 27 inches (95th percentile) and her head circumference was 16 3/4 inches (55th percentile). So far, she's still a tall blue eyed baby! We will have to wait and see how long that lasts! :) The doctor was very happy with Callie's growth and development. He even gave her a book to take home for being so good. Callie didn't like her shots though. She got three of them, and she was pretty upset about that! What a blessing from God that she is growing healthy and strong. I don't ever want to take that for granted! Callie is doing all sorts of new things lately. It is so much fun to watch her grow at this stage! Callie's biggest new trick is sitting up. She can sit unassisted for 5 minutes or so. I have to keep some pillows around her because randomly she just gives it up and lays back or goes forward on her tummy! I love that she can sit up now, because it makes it easy for her to play with some new toys! (Not that she'll be getting any new toys for Christmas.... haha) :) She also is sporting two pearly whites! Both of her two bottom teeth have successfully come through. She did a lot better with the second tooth than the first. In one of the pictures you can see both teeth! Callie is talking a lot more which is really fun. Laughing a lot more, and enjoying being awake for longer periods in the day. She continues to take 3 30 minute naps a day and sleeps from 7-7:30pm until about 7:30-8am usually waking once to eat. Last night however, Callie slept 12 straight hours without needing to eat! That makes for one happy momma! Also, when I went to get her up this morning, I noticed that she had rolled herself onto her tummy. So maybe she likes to sleep better on her tummy! I know I do! I can't wait to get to Texas for Callie's first Christmas. I know it will be so special. Callie can't wait to see everyone! Merry Christmas everyone! Hope all is well!

Callie's Visit with Santa!

Matt and I took Callie to the mall yesterday to see Santa! Callie was so excited to get all dressed up in her Christmas dress... (Well I was excited...) haha. I was so happy that she smiled and didn't cry. I just sat her right in his lap and didn't really give her too much time to look at him, otherwise she may have cried! She did very well and she told Santa about all the new toys and books she wants for Christmas! Callie is sitting up really well these days. I still have to be right there so that when she topples over I can catch her, but she's really close to being able to do it on her own! Callie can't wait for Christmas so that she can fly to Texas to see everyone. Callie will also be able to show off her new tooth when she sees everyone. After a week and a half she finally cut that tooth! Yea! Well here are some random pictures from the past week or so!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday to the best Momma in the world! I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know how amazing my Mom is. Mom, you are the strongest and bravest woman I know and the best Grammie EVER! You are also so hardworking and determined! I am so proud of you about finishing your degree. Only a few more weeks until you graduate! Horray!!! I look up to you so much Mom and feel so blessed to have you. Thanks for everything that you have done for everyone. Especially taking care of Dad. You are such a loving wife and I know he is so thankful for you. I hope that you have an absolutely wonderful day today! I wish that I could be there to celebrate with you. Take some time to do something fun! Oh and little Callie wanted to tell you happy birthday too!! She misses you so much and can't wait to see you at Christmas!! All three of us love you and wish you the happiest of birthdays! Love you Momma!

My 5 month old sweetie!!

Callie turned 5 months old a few days ago! Wow, time is flying by so fast! I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with her. Callie is learning so much everyday now. She now grabs for toys, with great aim, pulls Mommy's necklaces, earrings and any other jewelry. So goodbye jewelry, we shall meet again someday I'm sure. Callie is also baby talking a lot more. She also makes noises to get my attention. If I'm looking right at her she's fine, but if I look away, she makes a noise! She is still smiling all the time. It's pretty funny, every time I get out the camera she just smiles and smiles! It makes it pretty easy to get pictures of her! She also loves to take her pacifier out of her mouth and put it back in. Callie also just recently found her feet! She started out just looking at them, now she has moved on to putting them in her mouth! She is still really close to sitting up! It gets a little better everyday. She's sleeping for 7-10 hour stretches at night (which I LOVE), and she is also taking all of her naps in her crib like a big girl! Callie still loves to read books. She loves to hold the pages and try to turn them. She is getting better and better with solid foods! Her favorites right now are pears and peas. She is such a sweetie pie and Matt and I are so proud to be her parents! We love you Callie Michelle! Happy 5 months!!!

Almost sitting!

Callie is getting so close to sitting up! She can sit really well with help and she can sit straight up by herself for about 20 seconds! I can't believe how fast she's growing up! Slow down Callie! :) We are still working on solid foods. Callie has now tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, apples, peas and for the first time tonight, bananas. I think she likes the sweetness of the fruits, but they taste a little tart/sour for her. She makes the sour face and shivers a little bit with the fruits. Haha, its really funny. But I know that she likes it because she opens her mouth for more. In other news, I also can't believe that my baby sister is growing up so fast! Her and Ryan are engaged! Very excited for them both! They got engaged on this past Friday! Lindsey is super excited! I think Ryan is too! Well I just wanted to post some new pictures of Callie Michelle. Matt and I are just in awe watching her grow. Children are such a blessing from God and we thank him for her everyday.

Halloween and Callie's 4 month appointment!

Callie had a wonderful first Halloween! She is still too young for candy so Mommy and Daddy got her some new toys and books! Of course we didn't want Chile to feel left out so we got him a bone and some treats! He was a happy camper! We had a few trick-or-treaters, but after 7 we turned off our light so that Callie could go to sleep! I think that she is the cutest little lady bug ever! Such a happy girl! Callie loves her Daddy! And I think her Daddy loves her too!!! :) Callie and Mommy on Halloween! Is that for ME? Chile just can't wait to get a hold of that! Happy Halloween from Chile!

Today Callie had her 4 month check up! It was kind of late, but the doctor that I like is really hard to get! So we were a few weeks behind! Luckily we already did her 4 month shots, so it was a nice doctors visit! Here are Callie's 4 month stats: She weighs in at 15 lbs and 7 oz which puts her in the 76th percentile for her age, she is 26 inches long which puts her in the 92nd percentile for her age... (yes you read that correctly... my baby, is taller than 92% of other babies her age...)! When the doctor told me that I just started laughing! I said look at me, how can she be in the 92nd percentile! She said, it looks like you're going to have a tall little girl! She said that it could change, but usually when they are that high up there, they don't turn out to be short. Crazy.... Anyway, her head measurement was 41 cm and that puts her in the 39th percentile. Her head circumference percentile was consistent with her 2 month appointment, but her length went up 14 percentage points and her weight went up 18 percentage points! The doctor was very happy with Callie's growth and development. She also felt of Callie's gums and said that she felt the bottom two teeth under her gums. The top two teeth were not ready yet, but she said that the bottom teeth could start coming through at any time! Yikes! Praise God that she is healthy and growing strong. Callie vs. Rice Cereal!

Well, I decided to go ahead and try some rice cereal with my big girl. There really are no words. Pictures are better! But I will say that she is liking the idea of it more and more each day! Here is her first experience with solids!

Mom!! What in the world is this????? I really cant blame her... it is pretty tasteless and gross! Hmm... So the food is on the spoon and I can eat it??

Hope you enjoyed those! I still can't believe that she's old enough to try solids!!! I was going to wait until she was 5 months old, but the doctor said I could start at 4 months. Callie had been waking up really early at night, and I thought maybe a little extra food would help her sleep longer! So far it has been working! Here are a few other random pictures. Matt and I took Callie back up to Mt. Charleston this past weekend. It was quite cold, so we didn't stay long, but we enjoyed our picnic! Well I will post some Halloween pictures soon! Well, I know that its not Halloween yet, but we took Callie over to our friends house in her costume on Saturday, so I just had to take some pictures! My sweet little 4 month old!

Time is just flying by with my sweet baby! Callie Michelle turned 4 months old on the 15th of October! At 4 months, Callie is: rolling over like crazy, laughing, squealing, talking a lot, sleeping 12-13 hours at night (with one feeding at 5:30), grabbing her toys and putting them straight in her mouth, drooling (she wears a bib everyday now), staying awake for longer periods during the day (2-3 hours) and putting herself to sleep at night with only a few minutes of fussing! Horray! Callie also smiles all the time. All it takes is "Hi Callie" and she gets a huge grin! It is really neat to watch her grow and learn things about the world. You can really tell that she's starting to make some connections. I love my sweet little baby and am so thankful to God for her!! Happy 4 months sweet pea, Mommy and Daddy love you so much!!!
