Callie's Play Kitchen!!

Well, it was a close call, but the kitchen was done in time for Miss Callie's Birthday!  It turned out great I think!  She loves playing with it already and I know that it will give her years of fun.  Matt really spent a lot of time on this and I know Callie appreciates it!  And so do I!  Now I get to play with this kitchen too! :)  Here are some pictures!

Callie's play kitchen: A work in progress!

So I know I just posted yesterday... but I had to post a few pictures of Callie's Birthday present that Daddy has been working so hard on!  We still have a ways to go, but its coming along!  We are building Callie a play kitchen.  I think Matt did an excellent job on the sink don't you?  I am going to paint the kitchen a cream/white color.  We still have to put the fridge and stove/oven together.  Hopefully we will get this done before the 15th!!  Just had to brag on Matt, I thought he did an awesome job!

 Here is the sink!  We wanted to go for an antique look so we thought the apron sink would look cute!

Now we just need to sand and paint!   Oh and find the faucet we want to use!

June already!?

Well... it looks like May got away from me without a single blog post... opps!  I guess we have just been busy... running after an almost 2 year old! Yikes... how can it be true that she's almost 2!!!?  She is such a big girl now.  She talks in sentences regularly and is very smart.  She knows her colors, (pink, red, purple, green, yellow, orange and blue), she can count to about 14 or fifteen then needs help to get to 20!  She also recently learned to count to 5 in Spanish!  She can sing her ABC's and recognize all letters and sounds!  (I think its so crazy!!)  We don't work on it very much at all, but her memory is awesome.  Even though I'm jealous of her memory, it will help her in school!  Callie is really starting to enjoy playing with others.  (Well... more like playing alongside others)... :).  She gets really excited when we have a play date or go to church.  We have also been working on potty training a little bit.  She has successfully gone potty 3 or 4 times now!  She still has a ways to go, but hey, its a start!  Callie's favorite activities include going to the park (especially the splash pad now that its open), coloring, playing with "donimoes" haha, and she also really likes TV.  She does not like that TV time is limited however.  Now that its getting so hot outside I'm going to have to be more creative with things to do during the day.  Callie always thinks that TV is a good idea.. hahaha!  She can actually sit and watch parts of Disney movies now.  She really likes Cinderella a lot!  I like it too so that's fun.  Callie loves to be dramatic.  She says, "Callie is really, really sad" several times a day.  Haha... it sounds mean that I laugh, but she says this and then a minute later is playing and laughing.  I think she is just learning about how to express emotion and what the different emotions are.  It cracks us up though because she looks very, very convincing... and then she'll giggle.  What a stinker! :)  Also, Callie is starting to rebel against bows!!! NOOOO!! Haha!  She takes them out if we are home (as you can tell from the pictures) but at least she keeps them in when we're out!  Some of her hair isn't quite long enough to stay behind her ears, so this leads to hair in the face. :(
Callie had a great time with her Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Ryan when they came to visit.  Ill have to dig up some pictures, or get them from Lindsey and post them.  She had a blast!  Callie's Grandma and Papa are coming in June and she is looking forward to that!  They will be here the week of her birthday!  I'm sure she wont be spoiled too much right?? Haha!  I am going to make an effort to take more pictures and update more frequently since I've been slacking off! Well have a great rest of the week!

Easter!

Happy late Easter everyone! I hope everyone had a great day with friends and family celebrating our Lord. We sure did! God blessed us with a beautiful sunny day and an unexpected day off for Matt! We went to church and then came home and had lunch with our dearest friends. Callie was a big fan of Easter. She couldn't really grasp its meaning but she sure learned how to say "Happy Easter" to everyone she saw. It was really sweet. She really enjoyed hunting for eggs. We just showed her what to do with the first one and then she took off! It was so much fun to watch. I am so thankful that God loves us so much that he sent his son into this world to die for our sins and then conquer death! Just because he loves us. What a loving God! It just amazes me to think about that sacrifice. Well here are some pictures from yesterday. I hope you have blessed week!

Water Table Fun!

God has given us such beautiful weather over the past week! We have been loving every minute of it. I got the water table out of the garage yesterday because it got up into the 80's! I knew that Callie would absolutely love it. I was right! She loved it last year, but this year she is really playing with it. She likes to swing the monkey, and let all of the animals slide down the slide. Well after 30 minutes of watching her play, I went inside for a second, leaving the door open so that I could talk to her and hear her. Everything seemed fine... well this is what I saw when I came back outside... seconds later. Haha! Callie decided to turn it into a pool. It was so funny because she didn't give any hints that she was doing that. She just kept playing and saying the same things that she was... so of course Matt and I didn't expect that anything had changed. Little stinker! She waited until I left for a second and then made her move! Haha. Matt and I laughed so hard, and luckily I was able to get a few pictures! Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless! -Erin
